Calf Weanaid with Protexin - Keymix is a unique product which continues the colostrum advantage by minimising setbacks to growth often associated with the step-down in nutrient intake when colostrum feeding ends at 3-4 days of age. Especially for bucket fed and weaner calves.
Calf Weanaid with Protexin has 12 vitamins and 10 minerals to boost the levels provided by whole milk or milk replacer to be comparable to colostrum. Although colostrum is rich in vitamins and minerals, calves have a minimal store of these nutrients at birth. The ability of the calf to synthesise some vitamins and minerals in the rumen is limited initially, however, develops rapidly when solid feed is introduced into the ration.
PROTEXIN® is a blend of live viable microbes, which benefits the calf by improving the intestinal balance. These microbes are safe, non-toxic and residue-free. Everyday use of Protexin helps maintain a balanced digestive system, thus optimising digestion of feed and enhancing health naturally.
Indications for use:
* An aid during periods of intestinal dysfunction, including treatment and control of scouring and diarrhoea, exclusion and suppression of pathogens such as E. Coli, Salmonella and Aeromonas spp.
* Post-antibiotic therapy for the re-establishment of gut microflora following antibiotic use.
* Improve weight gains and feed conversion in growing cattle.
* Aids in the establishment of gastrointestinal microflora of physiologically immature animals, e.g. day old calves.
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:
RESTRAINT: PROTEXIN® should not be used in conjunction with Penicillins, Cephalosporins, Tetracyclines, Avoparcin, Gentomycin, Lincomycin, Streptomycin, Tiamulin or Tylosin, but may be used immediately following these antibiotics.
Mix thoroughly 20g per calf per day into the whole milk or milk replacer or mix 10kg per tonne of feed. Use strictly according to directions and for the animals intended.
