Shipping Information - US

At this time, Afuom remains fully operational. In an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Afuom Warehouse employees are working in rotating shifts. At this time, orders placed by 4 PM are shipped the same day. Please check this page frequently for any updates to this message.

Some items that are drop shipped by a vendor may require additional transit time due to extra precautions in place due to COVID-19. The vendors affected at this time include: Professional's Choice, JT International, Stud Muffins, English Riding Supply, Weaver, Wahl, Freedom Health, Lupine, Go Cat Feather, Pet Silk Inc, Rainbow Card Company,  Impact Gel Equine, Mrs. Pastures Cookie, Metropolitan Vacuum Cleaner Co., Aime Imports, Dare, Andis, Resco, and 5 Star.

Most orders placed by 4 PM Central ship the same day Monday - Friday (in-stock items, vaccines not shipped Friday - Sunday). 

Free shipping applies to orders in the  (lower 48) and will be automatically added to qualifying orders. Free shipping method will be Economy (see more below)!

Orders placed Tuesday - Friday by 4 PM (Central) usually ship same day, however, this may be delayed due to COVID-19 precautions.

Economy Shipping, Standard Shipping, and Service Charges

  • Economy Shipping (Approximately 5-14 days)
    Will be sent the most economical method. This is covered by the Free Shipping for $49 or more or the $6.99 service charge (see below). Some methods that fall under Economy do not have active tracking. Economy shipping is not available for Vaccine orders or orders shipped outside the contiguous US. Freight charges, additional charges, hazardous fees, COD charge, pack & weigh charges, and expedited vaccine shipping charges are separate and still apply.

  • Standard Shipping (Approximately 1-7 days)
    Is usually via UPS Ground. There is an additional charge of $4.99 for this service. All vaccines will be shipped Standard unless an expedited service is chosen for an additional upcharge (see under Vaccines below). Orders that meet the $49 threshold will be charged the $4.99 even if the service charge is waived (see below). Freight charges, additional charges, hazardous fees, COD charge, pack & weigh charges, and expedited vaccine shipping charges are separate and still apply.

  • Service Charge is a flat rate $6.99 used to offset the costs involved in handling, packing and shipping orders. This fee is waived on orders of $49 or more. If you choose Standard over Economy, the $4.99 applies with or without the service charge. Freight charges, additional charges, hazardous fees, COD charge, pack & weigh charges, and expedited vaccine shipping charges are separate and still apply.

IMPORTANT:

Large purchase quantities of certain items may result in additional shipping/freight charges. You will be notified as soon as possible if additional shipping applies. Your order will not ship until all charges are paid.

Please make other special requests for shipping options in the Comments box at the end of checkout. If you request express shipping for non-vaccine items, your order must be packed and weighed before a shipping cost is determined and the quote will be e-mailed to you. Your order will not ship until you approve the extra charges.

 

Freight Charges (FOB)

Jeffers assesses a freight charge (FOB) on items that are overweight, over-sized, and/or difficult to ship. Your FOB charges will be determined by the actual and dimensional weight of the item and your ship-to zip code. If you purchase an item that is assessed a freight charge, your on-screen order total will reflect this additional charge. Charges are listed under Shipping on the checkout page, if applicable.

Hazardous Charges

Some items carry Hazardous Shipping Charges for shipment, noted as "Hazardous Charges Apply".  This is usually a flat rate per item or group of items.  Hazardous items must be signed for upon delivery. Charges are listed under Shipping on the checkout page, if applicable.

Additional Handling Charges

Some items require additional handling charges for shipment. If an additional handling charge applies, it will be noted in the product description for an item. Additional handling charges are usually a flat rate per item or group of items.  Charges are listed under Shipping on the checkout page, if applicable.

Vaccines

Biologicals (like vaccines) are normally shipped Monday through Thursday in a padded envelope with one ice pack per order. A 2nd ice pack may be added to the order for an additional fee. While we are taking extra precautions to protect our staff, vaccines may take an additional day to ship from our warehouse. Only vaccines shipped Next Day Air will ship on Thursday. We strongly recommend, (if you are not in a one day ship zone) Next Day Air and an insulated container. We ship (vaccines ONLY) Next Day Air for $22.95 and Second Day Air for $18.95. If you are in a two day zone, you still have the Next Day option.

When ordering vaccines and biologicals, you will have three choices of shipping method (Step 2 of checkout): Next Day, Second Day, or Standard Ground. Next Day Air is the default method selected.  Please be aware that the shipping method describes the type of shipping used by the carrier when it leaves Afuom Warehouse.

All manufacturers of vaccines strongly recommend at least Second Day Air shipping and in the spring/summer months, we encourage Next Day Air to protect your investment. 

All vaccines are non-returnable and non-refundable. 

If you choose Standard Ground shipping, you assume responsibility for any consequences including warm vaccines.   We strongly recommend Next Day Air for shipments going further than a 1 day transit. Please see the transit map (link below) for approximate shipping time (use map for "Standard Shipping" when referring to vaccine/biological shipping).

Service charges still apply. Expedited orders (shipped via air) with a mixture of biological and non-biological items will be separated into two orders with only biologicals shipping expedited.

If you are purchasing more than $250.00 worth of vaccines (shipping to zones 1-4), Next Day Air is FREE. Click here to see if your zip code qualifies.

An insulated container (cooler) is available for an additional cost with all vaccine purchases.

Shipping Vaccines

If you place a vaccine order Friday - Sunday, your order will most likely be shipped on Monday - Tuesday. Most vaccine orders purchased on Thursday before 4:00 PM Central will ship Friday if Next Day Air is purchased, otherwise it will ship the following Monday - Tuesday. Non-vaccine orders placed on Friday before 4:00 PM Central will be shipped normally. For more details, see Vaccine Shipping Schedule.

Please note that because it is unlawful in many states to purchase Rabies Vaccine from any source other than a licensed veterinarian, Jeffers is only able to ship Rabies Vaccine to those states where it is legal. If you live in a state to which it is unlawful to ship Rabies Shots, Jeffers will note this when processing your order, remove that item from your shopping cart, and present you with a new total based on the other items in your cart. Return Information

AFUOM SATISFACTION GUARANTEE

If you are not completely satisfied with an item, simply return it with a copy of the invoice for an exchange, replacement, or refund.*   Shipping, freight, service charges,  hazardous charges and drop-ship fees are non-refundable.

Please check your order upon receipt. Reporting damages and shortages to Afuomimmediately helps  Customer Service correct any problems.  A Customer Service Rep will contact the delivering carrier immediately on your behalf. Please contact your AfuomCustomer Service Rep at 1-800-533-3377 if you have any questions or need assistance.

* Personalized, monogrammed or custom items are not returnable. Please fax, e-mail or mail verification for these items to guarantee accuracy.  All items showing signs of use are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

  • Electronic Training Equipment and Collars:
    Electronic Training Equipment and Collars may be returned only if defective or if they are returned within 30 days of purchase in new and unused condition.

  • Clippers and Blades:
    If defective, Clippers may be returned to Afuomwithin 30 days of purchase in new and unused condition. After 30 days have passed, clippers must be sent to an authorized clipper repair center.

  • Saddles, Pads, Sheets and Blankets:
    To help keep your saddle, saddle pad, or blanket in good condition while testing try using over a sheet to protect it from horse hair.

You may send your return to our physical address. Enclose a copy of your invoice and document on the copy whether you need an exchange or refund and the reason for returning.  If exchanging please note on the copy of the invoice that you are returning/exchanging "item number" for "item number".
